Important projects based on the Java technology that change the way we interact and do business? We want to hear from you, and so do the attendees at Java Day 2014. Submit your proposal now for a chance to share your expertise and experiences.

About the Content

Please consider the following as inspiration for submissions (the only real limits are your own imagination on anything in the Java EE ecosystem):

- Existing and upcoming Java EE technology JSRs and implementations

- Cool stuff that extends Java EE in new and interesting ways

- Case studies using Java EE 5, Java EE 6 or Java EE 7 (including migration from other technologies)

- Technical Case studies about projects implemented based on Java Technology in the Private and Public Sector

- Academic work based on Java Technology
- Best practices for using Java EE technologies

- Emerging trends in the ecosystem such as mobile, HTML5, caching, complex event processing, modularity, and the like

- Insightful research, development, and analysis work in server-side Java

Complementary information that candidates should consider to provide include:

 Session Type*: Describes the format in which the topic will be delivered:

A. JD Session: A 35-minute session presented by Oracle, customers, partners, developers, and/or user group members. We suggest allocating 5 minutes for a Q&A period within that timeframe.

B. JD Case Studies: A 20-minute case study presented by Oracle, customers, partners, developers, and/or user group members. We suggest allocating 5 minutes for a Q&A period within that timeframe.

•   Presentation Summary*: For evaluation only; this is an additional description of your proposal to help the reviewers better understand your submission.
•   Experience Level*: Identifies the knowledge level of the targeted attendee. General Tips

•   Session titles should be descriptive of the content and use common keywords. Write an abstract that is easy to read and describes the value of the presentation. An example of a useful title is: Five techniques to improve your Java server logging. An example of an uninformative and vague title: Java GC and You. Do explicitly discuss what your session is about rather than making a strategy pitch. For example, include specifics about case studies, customer/partner participation, quantitative facts, etc.
•   Do not include proprietary or confidential material.
•  The submitter is responsible for securing all necessary permissions for use of proposed

  presentation materials before they are submitted.</li>

•   Verify all contact and content information before submitting.

  The Submission and Selection Process, and Deadlines

  Candidate speakers are compelled to submit their Papers providing the required information by the 11th of April 2014 (inclusive). Candidate Papers will be reviewed and selected by vote by the JD Session Committee which is comprised by 2 Oracle Hellas employees, 2 designated members of the Java Hellenic User Group (JHUG) and 2 members of the Greek academic community. The evaluation phase will be completed and the final session front line will be announced by the 23rd of April 2014 (inclusive). Speakers will be required to prepare and deliver their final draft to the JD committee by the 2nd of May(inclusive).</li> </ul> </div> </div> </div>
