Description / Requirements

For the account of one of our major customers, we are looking for a senior software engineer specialized in JAVA technologies to ensure the everyday maintenance as well as other specific duties detailed in this non exhaustive list:

  • Update of the databases
  • Analysis of system behavior and logs
  • Bug corrections
  • Develop system enhancements

This offer is issued by the Front Office Market System of the Support & Solution NMS department.

Interfaces 

Directly employed by our company the candidate will directly interface him/herself with our customer, a major player on the electricity market. The candidate will work directly at the customer premises located in the suburban of Athens, Greece.

The candidate will be the technical referent in charge of the good behavior of the assigned work as well as being a source of proposal for commercial evolutions (in coordination with the project manager)

 

Scope of work:

A/ Technical Running:

  • Close follow up of the Energy Market Systems evolution in Europe
  • Quality control and on production implementation of evolutions on a market platform
  • Implementation of patches, correctives on dedicated platforms,
  • Design and implementation of non-regression, simulation and stress tests
  • Design and definition of evolutions of market systems
  • Participation to functional analysis and specifications of evolutions or to be evolutions
  • Good knowledge of electrical network
  • Good knowledge of Energy Management System is a plus (SCADA)

B/ Customer assistance:

  • Direct front office interface with customer
  • Support to customer for the production platform
  • Update of the development environments
  • Installation of systems, patches and all remedial and corrective patches

C/ Reporting to management

  • Weekly report containing several items such as actions to be made, proposition of evolutions, etc…

D/ Operation Issue Solving

  • 24/7 support to handle and solve critical applications issues. On duty is based on a “per team basis”.

Candidate profile

Human assets:

  • Strong Technical background in Software development
  • Technical Curiosity
  • Shifty and resourceful person
  • Greek language : Mandatory,  English language desirable

Specific tools

  • Customer Wise: Customer Relationship Management software (knowledge not required)

Technical Knowledge / Experience:

  • Programming: Java (Expert), Perl, Shell Unix (Optional), Framework JEE (Mandatory), ORM, Spring, Struts, JSF (Mandatory), Fortran (Optional), C.C++ (Optional)
  • Operating Systems: Windows Server (Expert), Linux Redhat (Optional), VMS (Optional),
  • Development:Eclipse, IntelliJ (Mandatory), SVN, Maven (Mandatory), Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic (Mandatory)
  • Database: Oracle (Mandatory), SQL Server (Optional)
  • Electrical Network Knowledge: Mandatory
